Shenango Lake Crappies

Is the lake too warm/ too late in the season to get a good crapie bite? I'd like to take me son up there this weekend? Someone told me that they had a 40 fish day last year in July.

I haven't been on the lake in couple of weeks. It has had to many ski boats on it. The last time I was out there were 3 boats still pulling skiers at 10 pm.

I fish the lake alot and the skiers can be a pain some times but if you go early you can get it some quite time before they show up. As for the crappies what I'm seeing is disturbing. While trolling I'm not marking any suspended fish like I usually do. The sunken brush piles are barren as the Sahara. Did see a report over at crappie.com that someone had caught some deep last week. You might want to check over there.
