Saw an episode on Monsters in us that pertained to that. (i think) Was traced to a cracked housing on the peoples well that was letting surface water leech into their well.

I would not be surprised if all of that goose crap around there plus the dead animals that end up in all flood control dams were responsible for the high bacteria count. They normaly shut down a lot of these natural lakes every year for a couple of days because of e-coli bacteria. There prob. is not much you can do with a body of water that big, as far as treating it for bacteria, except limiting your exposer to it. sam

If a person gets sick or a fish dies in PA, it must be the Marcellus. Right?

That's why I would never swim in a ACOE lake... I mean the water just doesn't look nice... No offense to those who do but honestly if you look at the water in Loyalhanna Lake, Conemaugh, or even Crooked Creek I wouldn't swim in it...

Good question. I'm betting they were loading. You can be permitted to withdraw water from rivers or lakes.
