Not your common catch...

Me and a bud decided to go to a local stream for some warmwater action. Water was pretty dirty so I threw big streamers. Varying between just swinging them and random strip retrieves. We caught the usual smallmouth and some walleyes. After a long stretch of no action(at least for me), I got a massive hit. The way it fought, I thought I had hooked into a big walleye or a nice smallmouth. After a couple minutes I brought the fish to hand and this was it...

What norm doesn't add is that he was swinging a big yellow leech pattern...tipped with a live one.

Thanks DT. Used to catch them in my two local rivers on minnows, so I always thought it would be possible for one to smack a big streamer. Just never thought it would happen to me lol.

Cold, if you are gonna tell the story, you better get it right No leeches were used. Smeared the fly with powerbait, yellow with the glitter in it

All right!  So what's the real story?  Either way, that is a nice catch.

    Wow,

    "Catfish On The Fly"
That's something I've never done. Or heard of.
Norm, here's your opportunity to research flies and tactics and write an article for the fly rags..
There are either books, chapters and articles on almost every species of inland fish.
You can be the first to do up catfish.
    Pretty cool, dude.
