I used to fish the warm water discharge at irvin works for years, a good portion of my life but haven't fished it but once in the last several years. Plus lemme mention, i fished it from shore. But i know yrs back you used to be able to do quite well right around the warm water discharge itself. We use to toss fatheads & shiners either on pencil-bobbers or split shot rigs and work em right along the edge of the current. Use to nail quite a few nice gamefish (and other species as well) using this technique. Also used to fish below the lock in braddock which is right downstream from kennywood yrs ago as well, always did well there also using pretty much the same technique, seemed to do better there earlier in the morning, use to catch quite a few nice smallys & hybrids either in the shallows or not to far out from shore.

There is a small ramp below the dam at 11th st off Braddock Ave
It is nothing more than a ramp with a few parking spaces.
I have never been there but see it from my boat.
Lots of fish on the fishfinder in that area but did not fish there this year yet.
I went up to that area last week to pull a novice skier in an area with little traffic and just for a ride the week before.

    PS: Sucks-NO Sandbar at Sandcastle

Personally, would NEVER leave my truck at the Braddock ramp. Too much vandalism!

i am worried about that myself olgerman, worries me in mckeespot as well. I have put in at elizabeth but no dock and all kinna hard cause im often alone...wanted to try boston but worried the yough is too shallow up that far and for as long as it would take to get to the mon i might as well drop in at elizabeth and head down...who knows...

the PFBC put in nice docks and launches at South Side and on the allegheny in Sharpsburgh (and im sure elsewhere) why cant we update the elizabeth launch to have a dock and maybe fix up the launch a bit?? its the only decent place in that pool to launch and i hate going through the locks!!

Often launched at 10th ward on the Yough  in Mc Keesport and ran up to the Lock at Elizabeth.  Got as close to the bubbles as possible and caught lots of bass. Came back well after dark one night and interrupted a "party" at the ramp. Detected a little attitude problem.  12 of them and 2 of us.  Dropped partner and backed off the bank.  Partner had his .45 and cracked off 2 or 3 rounds and yelled back that he winged a big sewer rat and that he was reloading. Totally different attitude when he backed in.  They even offered to help us load
