aurthur light show

Went out tonight on this beautiful Saturday. Saw a beautiful light show in the sky but not a cloud over the lake. Slayed'em but saw only 2 other boats out.[image][/image][image][/image]

Are you referring to a sunset light show ? Much to the disbelief of others and surprise when it's observed ,it's possible to see the Aurora Borealis in PA , but it's nowhere near as brilliant as in States closer to the Canadian border and beyond , but it can be observed when conditions are just right . Like DaGman , I also was unable to access pics .

The Northern Ligths are only active in winter, even in Alaska. I have seen them in New York State - beautiful sight.
I take it you're talking about heat lightning??? Or was it fireworks from the Big Butt Fair?

You might want to research that . They can be seen in March , April , September and October . I've seen them at Pyme in the fall .

Yep.  I guess any time is possible to see them - Winter is best.  I think I saw them in November in Syracuse.
    From a travel website:
  • Most frequent around the spring and fall equinoxes (September 22 and March 22)
  • Most active late at night or early in the morning
  • Most intense from December to March when nights are longer, the sky clearer and darker. This is also the coldest part of the year, reaching as low as -40 F.
  • Brighter during the new moon

Does anyone happen to know if the bridge crossing 422 at the North shore is open yet?? Haven't been able to make it out there in awhile and thinking of launching at McDaniels this weekend. Hate taking that detour to get back to 422. Thanks in advance......

The show I saw that night was south east ov the M/C arm near Mahood Rd. the moon was between the duck pond & Swamp run. I even went & made my buddy watch it so he wouldn't think I was seeing things

We were watching the same thing here in the Southwest, but since we also saw lightning I assumed it was a heat storm. It actualy made me leave Greenlick early. But, it was very cool to see. sam
