Thinking about trying here tomorrow, since dunlap was a big bust last weekend. Never been here before, anyone have and tips or reports they'd like to share?

Acme is a small shallow lake that is pretty weedy by now, 8-10'max.. What are you fishing for? Boat or shore? Check out the Bioligist report on the PFC site. P. M. me for more info if you want. sam

acme is full of weeds for sure. not too much worth catching out there anymore. the lake is stunted. about 15 years ago there were very high levels of e coli among other things from the farm along the feeder stream. they over sanitized the farm after that which did even more damage. i have heard of people getting nice bass from there recently, though i haven't seen any. there are loads of 5 to 11 inchers in there for sure. basically it's a big farm pond. tons of bullheads and bluegill. if you don't mind dealing with what i consider to be bait sized fish it's not bad. great place for little kids. if you're looking for big fish i'd go somewhere else and not waste the gas.

Went out this am, No one seemed to be doing to well on bass, actually I got 2 small one and they were the only bass i saw all day. Got a few nice sized gills, and a bullhead, all released. fished hard for the 2 bass i got, started to think there weren't any in there. Gills fought like 5lb bass lol.

went out to acme yesterday. the weeds are there but they haven't broken the surface yet. there was an armada of boats on the water by 7 am. i think the motors are keeping the weeds at bay. still you can't fish too far below the surface. it seems like there's enough water for shallow running lures or bobber fishing. the new problem is all the people that started going out there. i guess the trib did an article about acme. i had more than one person tell me that article mentioned eyes being stocked in there. i'm pretty sure that's total BS. i mean where would they live in that mud puddle.

I was at Acme last Sat morning, 1st time there.  It was very disappointing.  I was all over the lake, most places were 5' or shallower, even near the dam. 3 other boats on the lake, about 10 people on shore.  All we caught or saw caught was small bluegills.  I won't be back.
