I havent fished up there for quite a few years, but when i used to do a bit of walleye fishing i had hit it a few times. Last time we got into several eyes under the rt. 40 bridge.

If you've never fished it, be prepared that it's a popular water ski/jetski lake.  By 11:00 am there are tons of boats motoring around.  If that would bother you, I'd go somewhere else.  If you can fish it on a weekday it's a totally different lake than on a weekend.

Lots of underwater cliff structure, those are the spots to target for walleyes.  You gotta find them though.  There seems to be two kinds of guys that fish it.  The ones who never figure it out, and the ones who kill it every time they fish, because they've figured it out, and not much in between.

D, u are right there is no in between the first time i tried up there i didnt figure it out and caught 00 eyes but did manage a 37 inch pike on an 8th ounce jig head tipped with a leech which i found odd, but the second time out i found them and figured them out and killed them, but now i have no boat because i bought a house and got married, is there any good bank fishing up there to get into some eyes or at least some bass or something?

Honestly, not much.  The entire shore is public, so you can walk wherever you can.  Stay off of people's docks though, unless you get permission.   But lots of the shore is cliffs, tough to get around on foot in most places.

The Rest Area on Rt. 40 by the bridge you can park and walk down to the lake.  Looking at the lake, over towards the left, there are some underwater cliffs and downed trees.  I used to fish this area when the water is down in Sugust and do well on walleyes from the boat.  But you could do it from shore with a slip bobber and bait rig.  That time of year the cliff is in about 10-15 feet of water and drops straight off into 35-40 feet.  No guarantee, but it's a start.  Some people fish there from the bank.

Saturday I seen people fishing under the bridge on the marina side. Looked like a good spot. A large majority of what was left standing of the old bridge's pillars are still laying on the bottom.

Maniac,  I made the mistake of fishing the Yough Lake last summer on a weekend.  I got blown out of the water with all the big recreational boaters.  It was quite the expereince.

Have you been down the honey hole?  I've been on the Allegheny the last few weeks.  We're moving plenty of fish, just not getting any in the boat.  I need experience trolling.  Maybe we could hook up sometime if you want to teach a rookie some tricks.  Let me know.  I was reading your post on the other link.  I hope all is well with your son.  I have a daughter who is handicapped with special needs.  We have more than fishing in common.

I have caught several small muskies in the Yough lake.  It's been years, like 10-15, since the last one though.
