Elk

Anyone know if elk is down enough from this weekend to fish? I don't want to get stranded or anything!

its fine to fish... it was back to normal monday evening... only takes elk and walnut acouple days if that to clear out after a rain like that.... i dont see how anyone can get stranded on either creek- simply called one word.... stupidity. pay attention and dont put yourself in a position to get stranded if the weather is going to be the way it was over the weekend...

Its a leap year. The tides are always stronger in a leap year.

well you sound like someone who thinks hes "GAWD".

If you;re referring to the people stranded on elk, it was'nt "stupity".
a heavy rain storm dumped 2 inches of rain in less than an hour upstream of them.
The creek rose instantly, like a wall of water barreling downstream. I have friends that elk goes through thier backyard. the same would have happened to you as well.
the only "stupidity" I see, is you in this case.
waste of time explaining it, I'll just ignore your posts like everyone else on this site.

It's low & Gin clear . Fished yesterday caught one monster brown in the 3 ounce range .... Hope those fish move into the lake or they are gonna get baked . Smolts are congregated at any cold water source while the raccoons are snacking on them in thier time of need ...

Stuipid feesh natures way of thinning the gene pool I guess . Leave the waders at home & bring wading shoes & shorts water is hot in there .... DC

your right fishburgh... i have about a 2 min walk out my back door and im at walnut... have no idea what a rainstorm does to creeks around here... and your wrong, that wouldnt have happened to me cause common sense would have told me- i dont know about you. hmmm its suppost to rain hard all day, maybe crossing there and if the water did come up i couldnt cross back would be a bad idea... if you dont pay attention and dont respect even elk or walnut let alone the lake you got it come'n to ya... storms just dont appear outta the clear blue sky, 3 feet of barreling water just doesnt come down the creek, 5-7 foot waves just dont show up... pay attention and instances like that wont happen.
