Chauncy---crappies???

Chauncy, any action in the somewhat cooler water at Shenango?   I wanted to be out these last 2 days, but had plenty to do at work after hitting Myrtle Beach last week.   We're hoping to hit Shenango or Erie later in the week if the weather continues to permit.   I'm assuming with 64 degree water we are still looking at a jig/nibble or spoon/nibble bite versus minnows.

It's slow. Water must be turning over or something. All the fish i caught were on spoons and minnows. May as well fish erie for at least another weekend. They took the docks out today. What a muddy mess getting in the boat. The fish were in 18ft, near the dropoff.

Did you catch any of those shallow fish? And where were those bucket guys fishing?

Sunday was tough, we picked a half dozen decent crappies in about 15 ft. of water on brush.  In the trench, the sonar was solid fish from 25 ft. to 15 ft. in all sizes and shapes.  That said, we could not buy a strike there so I have no idea what they were. Chauncy, one of these days, I am going to have to have you give me a lesson on this lake.  It really gave me a beat down this summer.

I'm on my way out the door right now. Stop me if you see me and i'll give you a couple spoons to try on those finicky fish. You too Chesie. I'll be up that way a little later in the morning.

Sunday was a tough day fishing on Shenango in general. Fished a small club tourney from 8-4. Only managed 6 bass all day. Luckily 3 kept and they were enough. They certainly weren't on classic fall patterns last weekend. Maybe this weekend will prove better.

Chug,  what boat were you in? I am sure we saw you out there.  I drive the Blue Skeeter Walleye boat that was moving from spot to spot.

We may hit Shenango on Sunday given the nice weather forecast.  Did you fish on Thursday?   We hit Erie and had good fun with the steelheads.

Grif I saw you there. We were leaving the dock and you were talking to the older gent that lent us a vest. Red Lowe. You were fishing the road bed and me and an elderly fellow bass fished beside you.

Yep, that was me.  You were fortunate to get someone to lend you a vest.  That was the one thing I forgot, and we ended up purchasing a couple cheapies over at RC's (nice people but not the cheapest...)  Oh well, that was the first time I have pulled that stunt, so no biggie.

I just run a 16 ft Lowe Roughneck jonboat with a Tohatsu on the back. It is just plain old OD Green but I have it decked out nice and fully carpeted. This little boat serves me well for local fishing and occassional trips to Erie Bay. I spent all morning up in the 9.9 section but with the water dropping most of my spots up there were high and dry. Griff, I think I saw you when I was hitting some different spots on the main lake in the afternoon.
