The Other great Lakes...

Thinking of taking a ride/cruise/tour for a bit this summer. Getting up into Michigan(the state) is an idea. Anyone fish Huron or Lake Superior? How does their Salmon/Trout compare to LO? Any tips are appreciated. Parks, cabins, shacks, greasy spoons, liquor stores, etc....Thanks-

Never fished there but there was about 3 page article in the April/May In-Fishermen about lake superior laketrout and steelhead. Most they say is fish where the little streams trickle into the lake, raging rivers aren't always the best. Aside from that idk, i'm not even sure if you can view the article from the website.

None of them compare to Lake O in numbers or size. You can get into some good silver action in Lake Michigan. What parts specifically were you looking at, I have spent a lot of time on the West coast of Michigan and In the Green Bay area. Huron always has Saginaw bay great Eye Fishing.

If you are going to book a charter, try fishing stannard rock on lake superior. From what ive read, very good lake trout fishing.

Thinking of the East side of the LP of Michigan, up the whole side, then the UP all the way to Minn. Never been there before. Something to explore, take lots of pictures and have some fun.

Lakers, Salmon, Wallys, doesn't matter much for me. Bringing along a greenhorn. He never fished for any of these fish before... Just want some good times on the waters and some good meals to go along with the beer...
