It is true  i found the info  and DEC  has close the lower fly fishing section until NOV. 15 >>  http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/9218.html

Salmon River ** Due to the extremely low water level of the Salmon River the Lower Fly Section is closed until November 15. The Lower Fly section goes from the County Route 52 bridge in Altmar upstream .25 miles to the marked boundary at Beaverdam brook

Thanks for that. The reason being they still need to collect eggs I'm sure.

Yes, definitely closed until 11/15/07. Dave Agness of LOSA posted the information to members in his recent e-mail. Thank goodness, there's enough madness going on the SR with all the goons taking full advantage of the low conditions, maybe a few fish will be spared, most importantly the steelies.

Most angler's don't realize what a blessing the past 2-3 year's have been with the high fall flows, resulting in a very large natural reproduction rate. This has been true in ALL the tribs. This year though, with the low flows and most tribs dry, some of tribs may not see any runs which will greatly affect the returns 2 -3 years down the road.

Appreciate what we've got, respect it and take care of it, before it's all a memory.

I'm predicting unusually heavy torential storm patterns in oswego with the bulk of the system dumping a minimum of 20" in less than 24 hrs sometime soon. This may possibly cause local street flooding in the lower lying elevations near streambanks and creeks and as a result may in fact further delay the migration of SR fishermen to their fishing grounds. seriously you guys get any rain yet? heard 5" fell on some parts of upstate ny.
