Woodcock Creek, Canadohta, Oil Creek

Fished about a mile of Woodcock creek today...
Was a waste of time, rolled one trout..

A little OLD SCHOOL Graffiti.

Headed to Oil Creek to check the water level and ended up catching 3 on
black bunny leeches and a Wooly Bugger and three on top with a deer hair caddis....

Lost my first leech on the second drift when a nice Brownie slammed it so hard he broke the tippet..

Took the boy over to Canadohta to check out the new boat ramp and dock...
Very nice, bout time thet put in a dock and a nice launch...

The kid just had to try Dad's rod.....

Bings,  Just curious as to where you fished Woodcock.  It's been a sleeper creek for me when others haven't produced.

Never a disappointment...maybe I should hang up the fly rod and live vicariously through you.

Great pics! They really did up that launch. I'm guessing the water is up to a normal level? It may be time to start heading up. I went up at the end of March, but we had to drag the boat 50 or so feet out to get to the water, and then paddle even further out to put the motor down. Hope he had fun tryin out the fly rod. I wouldn't have been creek stalking trout the past few weeks with mine had my dad never showed me how to fly fish on this same lake.

    I'd rather be fishin...
