Workin on top

Headed back to Oil Creek for another go at those risers...
Fished down stream aways with a couple different nymph patterns.
Missed a couple...
Started to see some risers so I tied on a #18 Deer Hair Caddis I had tied up the night before....
I know 1 thing going back and forth with the Spinning and Fly rod is killing me..
The first two takes on top were met with the same hookset I was using Yesterday fishing for Pike.... Broke off both of them....

Started casting to some rising fish in really skinny water and was able to really watch how the fish react to casting and the flies going overhead..

Stood there for two hours picking off fish..Once I quit slamming the hookset, I ended up with 6 fish to hand and missed twice that many before they were done giving me another lesson....

Gotta like that take on top.....Addicting....

Little Brownie..

I'd hate to see what you become when you are a "grizzled veteran" fly fisherman.

    Bings
14-16-18 grannom caddis (black or charcoal)
    14 olive caddis
    16 green caddis just starting.
    16-18 yellow craneflies
Hendrickson's and blue quills on the upper end.

Those are the bugs that the fish are taking on that crick.
A lot of fish are taking emergers an inch or two below the surface. You'll see kind of a bulge on the surface.

I'm on the creek a bit. I'm surprised we haven't crossed paths.

    I get a little heavy handed,too.
I broke three off on Monday. One was a nice fat pally.
