First fish on a dry
After an hour and a half of in your face surfacing and feeding all around me, I finally convinced a small rainbow to take a dry.(charity fish)  ...WooooooHoooooo.. They kinda gave me a little lesson. There were fish rising constantly, just couldn't find the right fly. Was kinda cool casting to rising fish and watching them come over and take a look.... Did get in some good casting practice and watched some other fellas do quite well on top.... Gotta love Oil Creek....

You will NEVER forget your first fish on a dry... Oil is polluted with risers right now... green caddis still hatching like crazy? Was up there 2 weekends ago. WCO was out doing some work. He approached and fined a dude spin fishing haha. Never bothered us young bucks, despite a potent cloud of philly dust lingering downstream . Wonder if the caddis got a buzz?

Congrats Bings ... I have yet to get one on a dry and I am so hoping to do so at the oil creek outing next month. Im going to give it my best shot. Allz I can say.

they sure are rising on oil creek- slamd them tonight. anyone know where on oil creek its only fly fishn.... im spin fishn and dont feel like getn a coupon

A big thumbs up to mister bings! Man do I miss those early spring hatches back home in PA. I don't think a trout would know what to do with a caddis emerger down here in KY

Maybe the first on a dry...I'm sure it won't be the last...probably not the last one this week.
I don't always snag fish, but when I do... I choose Little Cleos I'm the best looking smartest snagging poacher alive...

Bing - that's fantastic!! You'll never forget your first - I know I never will. I never fished Oil Creek and it kills me that I cannot make it to the outing  Sounds like that area is on fire right now. Again - nice job my friend.

Grats, Bing. I got my first trout on a dry this year. Unfortunately, I wasted my first fly experiences catching blue gill and sunfish that go for anything and everything that drops on the water. haha.

Trout are just the bass of little creeks. I caught one on a red worm on Monday that was already choking down a creek chub 2/3s of it's own size. You'd be suprised how much they'll go for when you're actually giving them something they can eat! The same fish were lookin at my flies the day before like what the hell is that? They'd get close enough for a good look, smell or taste nothing, and back to the pack they went. I'm just teasin though, I like to fly fish too. I'm going up to The Yellow Creek trout club in Indianna this Monday. It's artificial only. I can't wait to see how I'll do.

I just got the report from the friend I'm going with. He went with his family today, and said he alone caught 5 and missed a bundle. I kinda got the impression that it might be fairly easy to fish there. I won't know for sure what I'm working with til I get there. The best part is that it won't cost a thing to go there. This year is turning out to be a good venture on my trout experiences. Only went twice as a kid with no yield. Now, I've been steelheadin, creek stalkin stocks, and I'll have gone to this club, my next trout goal will be to find a nice native creek and maybe do some hiking/camping. KH's thread looks amazing.
