SHutting deer hunting down?

I have heard from a couple people that the pa game commission is going to shut down deer hunting until the deer disease is figured out. has anyone else hear of this... i dont think they can shut it down this late in the season can they? they would have a lot of angry hunters out there.

If they do, it should be only for the seriously affected areas, my area of Washington County has had absolutly no impact to it yet, have not heard anything of them closing the season this year but i would be 1 of the angry 1s.

They won't do it.  Rumor mill is working overtime.  Many of the hard hit areas were above recommended carrying capacity anyway.

Agree.  If all but six deer are killed in Greene county by disease, the PGC would let us go get the six remaining.

There are no deer left in Greene county, poachers got the last six. Everybody hunt somewhere else!

I am in Washington Co. N Strabane twp. I found 10 deer dead so far from the disease. found all of them no more than 20 to 30 yards from the creek. most were very young buck. i heard that this disease was common in the south. the deer have a stronger imune system built up over years of getting bit. the body of the deer will break down faster than any other means of death. The organs and tissue start to break down before the deer dies. the carcus is gone within a matter of 3 days
