My spinning rod build or my Dad

I have built my share of fly rods for myself. And my father doesn't flyfish so I decided to build my 1st spinning rod for his upcomeing birthday.

Blank- Lamiglass G1000 6ft 2pc ultralight
Thread- Guidebrod Ht metallic black
Sulky haloshimmer gunmetal
Utc holo tinsel lrg black
Finish- U40 duragloss
Guides- A.T.C. A-frame titanium guides
Reelseat- A.T.C. channel lock titanium
But cap- Winchester 30/06 shell casing

I added a 20in. "hero mark".





It was a fun build. It's the 1st time doing a braided butt wrap. The thread work only took a couple of hours and the finish was uneventfull(I like it that way). All in all I think it turned out well.

    I'm sure Your Dad will love it pal....  The 06 casing is a nice touch

    Beautiful job.

    I don't know if you noticed...the title of your thread is.... spinning rod "or" my dad. While reading the title, I thought maybe you had to pick one when they went in.

    Great job....You'll both enjoy those days out.

    I missed puttin the "f" in front of the "or". My Dad only fishes with ugly sticks he probably wouln't even take it fishin' in fearing he'll break it.

    Ok i have an update. My dad n I have had some conflictin scedules an we finially got out him with his new stick. Here are som pics.

    sorry about the size last pic my photo. acc. is has gone "tito" on me.
    And he broke the seal with a 4 inch native.
