Alright guys, what do you think?

Found a motor I'm after, but have to buy the whole package. Have more pics and info on the way, but its not here yet..

About how old is this Lund? It's a Mr.Pike 16, and what do these things go for? I may buy the package and just sell the boat and trailer..
Thx-
Blowchowski

Actually that looks like a sweet ride for river fishing!  To better price the boat I would check out the usual suspect, Craigs list, E-bay... Price both the boat and the trailer seperately. I don't know what you are paying for the 'package' but check out the prices of the motor alone on the sites already mentioned.
Depending on the year of the boat it may be listed in a 'blue book' for boats or you may be able to google it and find out what it would have sold for originally.
You can always list it on a few sites as a 'make offer' type thing and decide if you want to sell it based on the offers you get. But if it's in good shape I bet you get a lot of interest in it. Without a motor it won't be worth a huge amount of money but still will help you recoup what you spent. If I didn't already own a yardful I would look at it!  I have an antique motor that would work sooooo sweet on that boat!

As for age... I believe it was 72 or 74 that they started to require hull identification numbers be placed on all boats, and that should help you figure out the year if you can find it... does it have a HIN tag or capacity plate?

I'm sure it does. I'm familiar with the Lund line of boats. Some guys are able to tell the age by the font on the logo, gap between the paint and stripe, or even the shade of the paint. I don't have a real need for a 16' aluminum, so keeping it will not be an option.
    Thanks (again)

Do you plan to post it on here when you decide what price you want for it?

dont know what year/model that motor is but a new 60 yamaha 4-stroke is around $6k with cables and control box

the last 2 digits on the right lower rear of the transom will give you the year.

Alot of the older boats don't have titles but, didn't it say the year on the owners card and papers from the notary? I have had alot of boats in the last 40yrs. since my first boat and never bought one that didn't have the year on the owners card.

    Thanks,
Unfortunately, all I have right now is the picture. The guy hasn't gotten back to me yet with the year of the boat and trailer. The motor--looks-- good in the picture, but until I find out more about -everything-, the only thing I'll have is-the picture-.

Just getting a little impatient Lol. Sold our little Whaler yesterday, and realized I'm a boat short.

    Unacceptable.

My guess is mid to late 70's on the boat, the motor is in the 2000's. Commander is right on the cost of a new 60, but a used one is a gamble. I would say if you can get the package around $4,000 to $4,500 you should be good. If the motor is low hour and top shape expect to pay more. I would think that after you rob the motor off you should still be able to get $1,500 for the boat and trailer. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Those Decals are definitley from the early to mid 80's. The 70's decals had the script connected along the bottom. Link included shows the difference in the 70's & 80's decals. Not to say that they haven't been replaced, but it's a start.

Throw my hat in the ring for those that may want the boat and trailer (minus motor) if you do purchase it.  Price would have to be right but that boat would be pretty nice for my family of 4.  My 14' Starcraft is getting a little crowded.

Now I see why you didn't know the year. I know from your past posts that you know alot about boats, that's why I was surprised you didn't know. That motor looks like it just came out of the box.! sweet

I would also be interested in the boat and trailer. Let me know when you are ready to sell it.

"A Homewood man led police on an hourlong car chase that ended with a crash injuring three officers.

"The car was driving itself," Wright said. "The car has a GPS. It's a Lincoln Navigator. They drive themselves. I wasn't running nowhere."
