lol. Can only suggest the bays and channels. Fish may be in the brush once the water warms another 10 degrees. I,m sure there is something biting someplace.lol

Fish with a buddy on his boat yesterday at the rc marina. Not a hit. Fished a few hours. Just wanted to get the boat wet after some improvments over the winter. Its early yet. Water needs to be anther 10 degrees warmer like mika said before they really get going.

I am glad you clarified that, I thought it was all bad chemicals & stuff in the water making his scales fall off. Take a read at the state advisory for Shenango sometime, if you believe what they say, your parts will glow like a calum stik if you eat to many fish from there.

Yep there's a few mirrors in that lake------I'd say maybe 5% (at best) are mirrors, based on my carp catches there over the years. Keep on catchin' 'em there and you'll get a mirror eventually.............and a 20 lber. too. My PB mirror came from there at 19 lbs. The mirror above is actually my PB carp from the river here.

Take a read at the state advisory for Shenango sometime, if you believe what they say, your parts will glow like a calum stik if you eat to many fish from there. Yeah, I like to call 'em balding carp. Or, maybe some crazy mount ian man came norf and collected carp scales for bizcuits. Mirror carp are actually a genetic variation of the scaled common carp. Completely bald carp are called leather carp, but they are extremely rare here in the states. I've seen the advisories, especially the area of the river I usually fish for carp. Mirror carp were supposedly breed in Europe originally to have less scales to make them easier to clean, but I'm C&R so no glowing for me. I do have glowing carp bait tho. I don't have a garden either, so I can't turn 'em into plant food (might get glowing vegetables if I did)................I just take a pic every once-in-awhile and release 'em after I'm done torturin' 'em.

ORIGINAL: Pork what'd that one above go...about 16#? Yep, pretty much, good guess..........16 lbs. 10 oz. to be exact. I may even enter it in the TOKS online big-four carp tourney, but that's probably only about half the size I need to be competitive in that tourney------it usually takes four 30 lbers. to place in that tourney, especially this time of year. I just noticed, you're a moderator.

Something should be biting with the temps closing in on 80 degress on Thurs. and Friday. Water will be warming up, especially shallow, mid-day to afternoon.

Would have been nice if 1/3 of them were keepers. Got well over 40 in a an hour and a half. Kept half a dozen for my brother. If this hot weather sticks around another week, we'll probably have an early spawn. Have fun out there. Fished late morning til about 4:30 this afternoon. Caught a fair amount of fish. No keepers. Fished shallow brush with minnies and twisters under a float. Got more on the plastics than live bait.

Shenango has really gone down hill fast. But the lake has been pounded the last few years pretty hard. I'm sure there are still alot of nice crappies in there, but I know its nowhere near what it used to be as far as size goes. It will go thru its cycle. Guys won't catch as many or to many little ones and quit fishing it, then when the pressure dies somewhat the fish will get a chance to put some size on. We always caught tons of nice one this time of the year only keeping around 10 to 15 an outing and releasing the rest. The decline in the size this year is the same as what I noticed at the end of last year. Time will tell I guess. Just my thoughts!

There are many new Amish to the area. Don,t look for any rebound on the craps. Small ones grind up too.
