Stealth Cam warning!!!!!!

If anyone purchased a Stealth Cam I450 or other cameras from GSM Outdoors at the Eastern PA Sports and Outdoor Show, make sure you try them out. We purchased 4 and none of them work. We contacted GSM and they said they would send out replacements when they received ours back. We sent 2 back (the other 2 were purchased by a friend) and they sent us one reconditioned camera. After contacting them again they explained that we will be getting the second camera from another location and that it would also be reconditioned. So it seems they have a bit of a racket going on here. Just giving an FYI to anyone that may have purchased these. If you open the camera you will also find that there are cables missing. I will follow up in the next few days to let you know if there is any progress.

So you bought one new and wind up with a reconditioned one?

Stealth cam has always had excellent customer service. Further, their NEW cameras have a one year warranty. Were the cameras you bought new ? I know the I450 isn't a new model but if it was unopened it should have a one year warranty. I'm interested in what the packaging looked like. If they were new in the package, and Stealth is out of I450's, they should upgrade you.

A note on the I450's... they have major whiteout issues. During low light, the camera can't determine whether you use flash or not. Stealth cam really only have two really good cameras.

Have a read. These guys are right on.

    Jon,
Do you have any contact info for Stealth Cam? Everything I find ties me back to GSM Outdoors. The cameras were supposedly new and the packaging looked new.

GSM is stealth. I should have specified. Sorry.

Were the cameras in a hard bubble plastic ? That's what the new ones come in. It's not beyond stealth for their cams to not work out of the package. Never happened to me but I've heard of it. If they were packaged with the hard bubble, I'd be raising hell about the refurbished ones. I450's have recently been stopped on production. Should be able to get them for about $100.00. Even the refurbished have a 60 day warranty. Let us know how you make out.

If you intend to stay with I450s, ask stealth if they have a download for the 450 whiteout issues. They were "supposed" to put one on their site.

Thanks Jon. We bought them at the show for 2 for $120. I guess some deals are too good to be true. I will post when I get the final answer from GSM.

GSM made things right, after a few other cameras that had problems. Just got another camera from them today and it works very well.
