Bull Dam

Any reports from Eaton?  I haven't been there for a couple of weeks, been fishing PI.  Last I was there, they were getting pike, but I'm more interested in pan fish.

I talked to a guy that live just up the road from there and he fishes it often and said that he's had a hard time finding the crappies this year and everyone he's talked to up there has said the same. I fished it once early this year and only found one little crappie.

I got half a dozen little ones on two different trips.  Wonder if draining it down a couple of years ago caused a problem.

It did. Also, the year before the draw-down, PI didn't have safe ice, so half of Erie descended on Eaton and pulverized the breeding size slab population. Eaton is too small to bounce back quickly from that kind of pressure. There are still respectable fish in there, just not anywhere close to how it used to be.

I hit it last night with the my new x67c ice machine and found a good school of crappies just couldnt really get them to turn on. Only managed a couple but they were there and wouldnt leave I just couldnt turn them on and I switched jigs and baits. Oh and they werent very big fish either.
