I have not been to pymatuning but I was told there was 4-5 inches of ice north of the causeway.  Again, thats what I was told.  Havent been there yet.

checked the ice thinckness off the city side of presque isle bay.even though there was 6-8inches of snow covering the ice,it was a good 8 inches thick.the bay looked completely frozen and i saw huts in front of public dock.no reports on how anyone did but id say its ice fishing time

Took a ride after fishing this morning to pymatuning and conneaut lakes.  Nobody fishing on either lake.  Not even a track in the snow on conneaut.  I heard a guy fell through up at manning launch earlier this week.  The north end of conneaut looked to be open water I believe.  Didnt go north to get a good look.

    Ice Ice Baby

PI Bay = 4-5" solid (in some spots - proceed with caution still!!)
    Misery Bay = 5-6" solid
    Horseshoe Pond = 5-6" solid

Dafunk, I don't think the whole bay has solid 4-5.  Lots of variation where we looked off 3rd lot. 2-5 with lots of down pressure still.  I did not see anyone off the 4th or far out off erie side.  Did you try those areas later in the day?

about 8 inches of snow and slush on misery. fishing was good this morning. caught around 30 gills and sunnies in two hours.  the only thing they were hitting for me were wax worms on little jigs.  not one fish on shiners for me.
