Drop shot rig for blue gills

I've been tying a sinker with 3 hooks tied above it about 18 inches apart. Hooks are tipped with pieces of worms was tryiny to locate some perch or possible walleye. Catching lots of big blue gills in 16 to 22 feet of water. I've never fished for bluegills in the past this way.  I had 2 doubles tonight. Any body else ever tied this.

I caught a dozen large ones today in water from 15 to 35 feet deep using a hali and meal worms. I had a lot of bites in the 35 foot depths but had a hard time hooking them. I m going to rig up a drop shot rig to try sunday with a pair of hooks.

Thanks for the idea, hopefully it might help the hook up ratio. Went thru about 75 mealworms to get the dozen i kept plus about 6 smaller ones.

We hammered the gills over indian lake the other night they are on the feed bag now going over sunday night and try it again.  They come into about 20 feet of water and a big hatch of white flys were coming off the water and they were going nutz.

I still got about 15lbs of crappies in my freezer.  Had some the other night beer battered.

Tried this method again tonight and caught a lot of fish. I had 2 other poeple wit me and we kept close to 60 bluegills. We didn't start until 5:30 after work and fished until dark. Seems like some of them have moved to shallower water. The big ones are still deep. I wish that I had tried this in the middle of summer to see if it worked all summer. Alas the water temp is dropping and I'll have to try this agin next year.
