its about that time. people here have been seeing bucks running into small herds of doe and scent checking them. i saw a buck 2 nights ago running across the field with his nose down the whole way across.

monday night buddy had three bucks around his stand, one checking does, while the other made a scrape. tuesday i gave him a tarsal gland from a big buck that was shot last year and some doe urine to drag in and hang in front of his stand.  called me at 530 while i was on my way to work, 8 point came right in to it and he hit it, only bad thing is he didn't end up finding it.

I wouldn't say it's odd to have doe come into a grunt.  I think it's just another way to communicate when the situation doesn't allow their nose to.

My reports and advice are for everyone to enjoy, not just the paying customers.

did a little bit of calling after after i saw a small 6 walking around with nose to ground, and nothing else came in.  ended up shooting a doe at about 630.  30yard shot, doe went about 20 yards, saw her fall from the stand.
