bauer fly reels

I recently feel inlove with the bauer rogue fly reel in agate green. The one I got to touch was a year old and the guy is selling it wants $275. Brand new its $350.  Has anyone ever used, owned or heard anything on these reels? I dont want to put that much money up for something and it be junk.

The Bauers are nice. I do not have one but a few friends do, they like them alot. Tried one out a few times up in New York, worked great. If you can get the lifetime warranty with it, go for it. If not there are several goods reels in your $275 price range.

For steelhead, I agree with anadromous.  Lamson offers a quality reel with a great drag in several price ranges.  I have two litespeeds, a 3 for my singe hand and a 3.5 for my double hand. both reels get a lot of use and are solid and dependable.

For fishing the smaller PA and NY streams with a single hand rod, you want a reel with a spool diam. of about 3.75". For 2 handed swinging' a spool diam. of  at least 4".  ( In reply to any one looking for a sthd reel.)

I have a lamson radius 3wt and i like it but im not going to lie, the bauer rogue in green or blue look sweet. I know looks arent what should drive a person to a fly reel but i can resist.
