thanks.
Wrap .020 lead wire around the shank leaving the front third of the hook open. Wrap a thread base, trying to even out the lead/shank junctions.
The next part can be a little tricky. Take a needle point debarb plier and bend Japanese nymph legs into a U shape to create the 3 sets of legs. Tie in the first set (criss-cross wrap) where the wire ends 1/3rd of the way back from the hook eye. Then, secure the 2nd and 3rd set of legs in front of that. Superglue them in place.
Now, advance the thread to the rear of the hook and secure a strip of Virtual Nymph Skin (cream). Wrap it forward. This can be tricky to because you want to gauge your wraps so they the front 3 wraps cover the 3 sets of legs. Tie the Nymph Skin off. Mark the head, legs, and body to the desired colors (I use dark brown for the head, legs, and rear end; pale yellow for the body and mustard for the darker plates on the back, then blend the colors).
Next, varnish over the entire grub. Let dry re-paint. Softex the entire thing. Then re-paint. Wallah!
