Vinestbrew - Don't have the time today but I'll try and put one up tomorrow. Look on the tutorial page here for it unless someone else chimes in before me. For now though you can look on that page as there are a few on there now that involve the Hex Nymph.

Good questions. It would help a bit if you could be a little more specific. Let us know what your interested in as to what type of stonefly as to dry or nymph like KJ mentioned and we'll try and help. There's loads of different ways of tying them.

Thanks for the quick replies. I have become stuck in a rut awlays tying the same patterns for steelhead. I need to add some variety, I have seen so many different types and styles. I was looking for a standard nymph for steelhead. I assume that I would tie up a variety of tan/brown and black in sizes 10-14 does that seem right?

Might as well figure on spending $40.00 there. Don't matter what I'm after - the d%#m bill is always close to that for me.

Here is one of my favs. It is meant to represent the tiny winter blacks and the early black stone (depending on size). Here is a video (remember, Im no Pacino or Deniro) http://www.castersflyshop.com/Video%20Footage/slystone.wmv Here is another I like thats not articulated
