Centre County Trip

I am heading out to Centre County this weekend for a camping trip and I am looking to do some fly fishing.  I have never been out there before.  I know about all of the name creeks out there but I am looking for some guidance (what to bring, where to go, etc).  Anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks!

~15 years ago, I remember the town of Coburn as being a great place to enter Penn's Creek.  Fisherman's Paradise (spring creek I think) out past the mall/prison always produced as well.  Standing Stone creek was another favorite of mine.

It's been a while since I've been there, but fishing was always great.

There's an excellent fly fishing shop near the Nittany Mall, Fly Fishers Paradise. They can direct you to all the spots around the area, very heplful and personal. Website has current conditions as well. 2603 E College Ave, State College. 814-234-4189

The shop that Lipsticker is talking about is a great shop. Very helpful! Those guys check the streams daily and know what works and where to go. Helped me out alot when I was learning Spring Creek a few years back.

Got back late Sunday.  I ended up fishing Penns Creek (near Poe Paddy State Park), Fishing Creek (the narrows), and Spring Creek(Benner Springs).  I came back with nothing caught.  I saw plenty of fish in both places but couldn't get them to take what I had to offer.  I am still pretty new to fly fishing so I am trying not to be too discouraged since I still have much to learn.  The weather wasn't all that nice this weekend making Saturday night pretty miserable for camping and fishing on Sunday morning.  I definitely would like to try the area again when I get the chance.

Thanks to all who provided suggestions.  It was much appreciated.
