Maybe not too big.  The ones I used last season were lik those, and they hammered them a couple days.

    It's not always clear too.

    nice looking flies.
    I don't think they're too big, either.
Them fish down low like em big, anyhow.
started using tip dyed marabou and bunny last year.
Orange tipped red had more than a few good days in chalky colored flow.

No shanks, too much $.  I got cheap shop hooks, and I'll cut the tip off.

Spey marabou, arctic fox, guinea, schlappen, hooks, ostrich, blue eared pheasant.  Wife loved the bill.  haha.

You seen the clifff swinger/tube boxes?  Not bad, one of those too.

It has slots on the same side of the leaf as the tubes.  You can put the hook on articulated flies in the slots and they hang into the area where the tubs would go.  The other side of the leaf works also.

    BEP is "natural".  almost black.

That crap is so expensive for 5 feathers, I'd rather shoot a heron, and take my chances.

Good stuff KJH! They are not too big!

Hey D-nymph. Have not seen the swinger box in person just pictures. Kinda curious as to how many flies would actually fit in it. I have alot of the Cliff boxes and really like them. I do like the idea of the design of the box, just wondering how many it would hold. Trying to figure out if I want to get one or two of them, or just keep the storage set up I have now. Thanks.

You kidding me KJ? They will swing fine in any water. But if you just dont have the confidence in them for PA. Send them my way and I'll put them to use. They look nice. Oh yeah almost forgot. You can put in some of them BEP feathers as well.

They definitely are NOT too big.

    Bottom two should hAamER 'em.

Never had much confidence in orange though. I've caught fish on it, but it never seemed as effective as other colors.  I think when the leaves are falling they get turned off to orange a little.

I think the bottom right is a rip-off from the fisherie "watermelon jig".

    norm,

On the smaller side of the box, I'd guess 10-15, depending on how big the flies are.  On the slotted foam side, if no tubes are used, I'd guess, 20-30, again depending on size.  If tubes are also in there, I think there are 12 holes for tubes, probably, 12 tubes and 20 articulated flies.

Here's a  wound marabou fly that would be worth a try for erie sthd.

Canary - Very popular Margaree river, Nova Scotia fall atlantic salmon pattern.

3 feathers: 1st-fl pink, 2nd-fl orange, 3rd-fl yellow, 8-12 strands pearl krystal flash tied in before or after winding on the pink.

This fly practically glows in the water and an old salmon guide I met up there swears by this pattern and fishes best when tied fairly sparse, just a couple turns of each feather.
