Loose 870 Express Stock?

Went out for some skeet last night, noticed that the stock on my 870 seems loose???? Is there an adjustment down inside the reciever to take that play out or what is going on here?

Remove the butt plate or recoil pad and there is a bolt way up there to tighten.
Use a long flat blade screwdriver.

How do I take that recoil pad off, doesnt look like theres any visable screws, if i have to physically pull it off, how do I get it back on?

Look for 2 small screw holes that go through the pad.
It may also be glued on.
    If it is glued:
Cut off with a razor blade as close to the stock as you can.
A replacement pad will probably not fit right so try not to damage.
Tighten screw-you may want to remove and apply thread lock.
To reinstall-sand the stock and pad to remove some of the old glue then glue with epoxy

    Look at page 16

The bolt that holds the stock on is part #60

    JHL,

The screw holes maybe difficult to see on a rubberized recoil pad  as the rubber may have closed up around the holes. You may have gently probed around with a small phillips head screw driver.

I would also suggest the before tightening the stock nut, that you remove the stock from the receiver and check from debris.

    Take care

3 screws, 10 minutes, cant thank you enough!

    For future reference for anyone.

The two in the recoil pad are philipshead
The one in the stock is a flathead(large) and you need a long handle.
