fly reel

I have a 8wt-9wt fly rod and i bought a cortland carisma la reel, just wanted to know if anyone thinks it would handle large salmon(kings) ? As im going up in 2nd week in oct. and cant wait for the run!!!!!!!!fish on. any input would helpful thanks all.

    kings can beat the crap out of ur gear if you palm the reel to help the drag out u should be ok, i just wouldnt but all the work on the drag..

    sounds good thank you for the in put. and i usually palm my reel anyway,and will with this one this year and agian thanks. fish on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
