for anyone haveing a tough time finding walleye it boils down to one thing temp look at the 42;10 line all 75* surface temp and eyes do not like bath water go early and deep and not on a sunny afternoon good for a tan but a light cooler unless you packed with beer and ice, i have myself had a hard time this year; do to lack of time, my numbers from the gps in the past scrap them this year!! im going this sat but if you were wondering that is the reason feel free to check the glfs web site and you will see

Surface temp means nothing on Erie. The eyes hold a few feet above where the cline sets up as the bait they are now feeding on, mostly smelt hold in 55 degree water and the eyes prefer 67 degree water. caught them in 55-68 degrees this past weekend anywhere from 48-60 foot down in 68-72 fow. Find the bait and then find optimum walleye temp near the bait and you find the fish, my freezer endorses this statement.

what part of my post that says cline was difficult to understand. And the eyes are NOT holding on the cline they are stacked in the 15 feet above it the bait however is below the cline line. Drop a temp probe down and see what you can find it really is an amazing useful tool.
