Night fishing

How many people fish after dark. I've been thinking of trying this during the hot summer days. Any tips or advice would be welcome.

When staying in Erie I'll fish nights, most times at Edinboro Lake. I'll use the same stuff as I do during day light. But since its can be very dark at times and foggy, I tend to check the line by feel. This takes more time but sometimes the night bite is way better than day during the dog days. At one time or another all colors produced at night. BTW I'm targeting bass, though eriedeeries tipped with crawler will catch anything off the piers of Erie any time of day or night.

We fish for wally's after dark on the inland lakes. Woodcock, Canadohta,Chatauqua. There is a definite night bite. We had one of our best nites at 2am. The walleye had moved up on the shoreline and we were pitching jigs into 2ft of water. Not many fisherman out that time of day either..
Does any one fish the big pond at night??

I've fished late at woodcock twice in the past month. Night fishing is a lot more challenging than daytime fishing. First time stayed untill 11:30. Trolling with worm harness. I caught a muskie didn't realize what it was until it started thrashing around. When it got to the boat. I was all by myself and it wasn't very fun trying to land it by myself. I have a Boca grip but couldn't get it in his mouth before my 6# test line broke. Second night out I got absolutely no bites. Does anyone ever use any of the floating or submersible lights to draw in the baitfish. I'll be on vacation for a week and plan on some night fishing. I would like to try Conn. lake.

I fished at night at woodcock twice last week. From dark until 2:oo am. I used floating light and a lantern hanging over the side. The lights atracted lots of baitfish and lots of small walleye. I didn't catch anything worth mentioning. but had a good time.
