eye jigs/color and water factor

Heading for the river with (boat), any suggestions of color and size of jigs. EXP- 1/4 oz 1/16 oz, white/black tails with off color heads? (high water low water). And as always if the water is clear or not, how  do I match with the jig? is that important? Its been awhile hitting the river but I'm going to find the time now, I told her!!!!!! lol. Any info would be helpful....... target is walleyes.

No expert, but during the summer I usually throw metal flake smoke or dark red. Muddier water I do best with yellow and I usually throw 1/4 oz unpainted heads.

go with realistic colors in clear to slightly stained, then go with flourecents in heavily stained to muddy.the weight of the jig is going to be river flow specific.and i recomend leaches for walleyes .that ribbon effect is deadly on em in alegheny

This has pretty much answered. Red, greens, pink. When the river is low!

Just one other side note, if you start to get hung up a lot switch to a lighter jig, I'd bring 3/8, 1/4, 3/16, 1/8. White bass can't resist a minnow and jig combo vertical jigged if you get bored.
