RODS

I think i found the rod i want to take to canada.It is a shimano compre medium heavy with a fast action tip but the only down fall on this rod is that it only throws 3/16 to 7/8 oz.lure.We will be using 2 oz. daredevils,bucktails single and double hooks And 1 1/8 oz silver minnows also some spinnerbaits.Will this rod be fine to throw up to a 2 oz.lure?

    You might be able to get away with the 1 1/8oz, but IMO, it won't take too long for it to blow up if you're tossing 2oz.

    So would we better off to buy a musky rod?They're 3/4 to 2 oz or is this to much for pike?

    If you're going to be trolling, the lure rating does not matter.  If casting, then you should step up to the Compre Musky......it fits your lure range.
