pinncale IM7 rod 8' ML

Looking at getting one of these rods.  Stats seem good for steelhead on elk and can pick one up for under 30$  any one have for use one of these? It is a ML action 4-8 line wt and 1/16-3/8 lure wt.  Just dont' need to spend $$$$ on a rod.  Has to be some good ones out there under 50$

    I got a Shakespeare Agility noodle rod from FishUSA for steelhead fishing. For $40, I dont think you could do much better. It isnt a "pretty" rod, but it performs admirably well. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to get a cheap start in steelhead fishing.

    i've been doing steelhead for 10 years and I use a shakespeare agility 10'6.  it's im8, so it's lightweight and strong.  good backbone unlike many noodle rods that are like using a coathanger.  for me it's the best rod around for jigging and is suited much better than others for float fishing, spoonchucking, etc.  i have thousands of dollars of fishing equip, these are my favorite rods.  i've bought many more expensive and prettier rods that i regretted buying for steelhead.

    I have a 9' pinnacle IM7. For the price,$29.95, I don't think you can get a better rod. I'll probably buy another on my next trip to Poor Richard's. ( They even threw in a free camo hat ).

    fishusa has a really nice selection of steelhead rods, all prices.  take a look here.

    I bought a Pinnacle 10' L and broke the tip the first time using it. My Dad has one, and his is still going after a few trips.

    To answer your question, yes, this rod will do exactly what you want it to do.  I bought one a few years back for my daughter to use for steelheading and its still catches fish.  It is a 9 footer however, and I recommend getting one a little longer than 8.  Nice rod for the money you pay though. 

    As far as noodle/float rods are concerned, I think one of the best rods I have used and handled has got to be a St. Croix 11'6" Wild River and I STILL don't own one!  A friend of mine let me try his and I really liked it.  I do have a 13' Avid that I like as a float rod with good back bone, but to me, on most Erie streams...the 11'6" WIld River is the nicest and most versitile rod.  Thats just me.  By the way, if anyone has one they'd be willing to part with....I'll take it!
