telling the dif between a long and short shaft

this may seem like a stupid question to some if it is please excuse me.But how do you tell if you have a long or short shaft motor?Any info would be greatly appreciated.46

    15" = short shaft
    20" = long shaft
    25" = x long shaft

    Measure from Mounting Plate to Cavitation plate...Here is a Diagram to help...Use skips measurements above to determine what type of shaft it is...

    it is an evinrude 9.9 90;s motor nothing wrong with it i am selling to get a 20 i will prob ask 850.00
