    Smallhook,

You need to go golfing with me when the river is like this!!!!!!! I know there are other places to fish, but you should know by now that is there is no other place of the river like this one. And that dang Mossy Oak, never wants to go golfing unless it is a 90 degrees and 100 % humidity which is just a tad to extreme for me at my advanced age....lol.  I guess you need to take a pic of me on the river so I can update the one in my profile then my age will tell for sure!

Assuming there is no more rain for a few days, how long does it usually take to become fishable again?
I'm talking about the Cedar Creek area.

We have had a dry summer.  The Yough should be in good shape by Sunday although I did throw some plastics at the Smithton beach today.  I'll be heading down tonight before dark using corn on my flypole.  This is a good time to target carp.  Muddy enough so they can't see you good although if you try to sneak up on `em they can feel you coming.

Tomorrow will still be colored, high and fast, if you don't like that kind of water, go golfing.  GTO, I don't golf no more.  I've been spending my non-fishing time at work and with the family.  We do need to update the pic of you, i didn't know they had color photography back then.

I use my feet, my eyes and my waders.  You need to move around to find the bigger fish. Spending lots of time on the water is also helpful.  I've found that the little rapid sections up in Whitsett and Layton has produced some real beauties for me.  Are you wading?  Most sections of the Yough are very wadable but I've been chuckin soft plastics into the rapids using big heavy jigheads.

I fished the Yough from Buena Vista down to the mouth on Tuesday.
Best day of the year. 9 bass and 3 sauger, all over 15" and many dinks of both varieties.

Shoot, that may be my best day ever.

    Flashdance,
If you don't mind me asking, what were you getting them on, artys or bait?  I haven't hit the river since the end of June.  Was wondering if I could even make it up past the restaurant in my boat with the current river level (launch at Boston)?

I have been meaning to join the group that has the launch in Coulter but never got around to it.

White crankbait. The fish were very concentrated. If you find one, there are most likely several others there. Long casts and keeping the lure in the "zone". Slow retrieve straight up stream.

I was camping at Rivers edge campground around Connellsville last weekend.  Caught a very nice Large mouth on Sat. morn. I was using a Creme swim shad (white color). Caught a very nice smallmouth using night crawler on the bottom. Overall it was a very nice trip.
