Sacandaga Fishing

I'm headed to the lake for a week vacation on Saturday 11 July.  We're staying in Edinberg on North Shore Road about 3 miles past the Marina.  Just wondering if anyone has any tips on fishing in this area.  I won't be venturing too far on the lake since I'll be fishing from the Crawdad with a 2hp motor and electric trolling motor. I'll be targeting smallmouth, but wouldn't mind geting into some Pike or even Walleye. (if their in there)

If anyone wants to come for a day, or even spend a night, let me know!

Thanks guys

Here in NY once you put any motor (elec or gas) , YES you need to have hull #'s and registration on the boat.

Santa:  Some nice rainbows in that stretch of lake.  The lake association stocks them and they stock them big.  The trout fishery in the Sacandaga is overshadowed by the warm water species, but the trout do pretty good in there.  If the bass aren't cooperating, give the trout a shot.

Got out today (05/01/10) from 6:30AM until about 1:00PM. Started out on the western shore of sinclaire point. Marked fish on the sonar but no takers on fatheads or leaches. Moved to the Bachelorville bridge. Worked the pylons with jigs and slip bobbers. Marked more fish but no takers here either. Moved back out main lake and fished near sand island. Made two drifts west to east through the deep flat and over the large hump. Had quite a few short hits then finally broke the ice with a 14" Perch. Worked that area a little more with no more hits so I moved around the island and worked the 10-15 FOW range. Picked up one 14 1/2" Smallmouth. Not what I was looking for but still a fun fight. Both fish were caught on fatheads dragging on bottom on split shot rigs.
