RAIN IN MAINE

You want to talk rain - wow!  Just got back from eight days in Wells Beach, Maine and it rained on seven of the them with one day sunny (78 degrees).  All the others were in the mid-60s!  Fished almost every day with no luck, but did see one striper on a line that broke off.  Most were using cut bait (mackerel), but I stayed with the plugs, spoons, soft baits and jigs.  Fished Kennebec River, Saco River and Parsons Beach with favorable tides each day, but no luck.  Never saw one guy with a fish caught and last year I caught plenty of schoolie stripers in each spot.  Also caught a nice 5 1b. bluefish that I gave away last year.
Did enjoy watching my Red Sox on NESN.

    Ed, I fished a few inland lakes in maine..sebago being one.. a few others but fishing overall stunk.. still was a beautiful vacation trip.. remember the lobster fast food stands which were fun.. i heard it is even better scenery along the coast. it has been pouring pm ts here with minor flooding last several days too.

    I heading up Saturday to York. I hope the rain stays away. Sorry you didn't have any luck. Do you think it is still early up there or maybe too late?
