I heard it was an Italian restraunt before I left my home in Pulaski for the summer. Im on Cape Cod presently guiding and will be home shortly to start guiding for Salmon, Steel, etc..., so I can tell you more once Im back.  They should be open by now.

The new restaurant I think you're referring to is the RiverHouse.  On the site of the former Log Cabin.  What I have heard from locals is that the menu and employees are excellent!

If it's on the site of the Log Cabin then it's a brand new building, that's quite a investment for a seasonal business,I wish them luck and hope the food is excellent 'cause that's rare in Salmon Country.

I'm so glad they put the Arby's in. I didn't even go to the Ponderosa last year.

I've eaten at Eddy's good food and decent price. If Brandy's on Rt 3 is open early enough ??  they do have a good breakfast and decent lunch.Other places that are good near by are Rainbow Shores ( not sure how long they're open into to salmon season ) and The Wigwam off Rt 15 which is about a 5 minute ride north on Rt 3 you'll see the signs for it .

Haven't tried the new place yet where the log cabin used to be.

It just plain sucks the restaurants have terrible food along with the service for the majority of seasonal fishermen. Accomedations and food at eddy's was aweful and expensive for what it was last year. That menu could have made it for mad tv or SNL comedy special.. their seafood platter  was all fried crusty smelly fishnchip style and one beer each, salad bar was worse than ponderosa.. As cold tired and hungry as I was ,it actually made me nauseous at 70 bucks +with the tip..., $80.00 for two scarey worn out bunks and rugs people down here put out to the curb, I felt ripped off quite frankly. Just goes to show how we must count our blessings.

instead of hotdog stands, maybe Sr can have fresh fish fry stands for the fishermen on the go!the od logcabin had fried frog legs and the best food up there hands down. I remembered their baked ziti/lasagnia and excellent desserts and coffee. Never experience good food in pulaski after that and to this day so many years later!

backin79,the Rainbow Shores by the lake is always good, never had a bad meal there. Also I had lunch at Eddys last year that was very good. Then there is the Pondorsa, best value up there. But,over the years I have had some of the worst food in my life in Pulaski, they get me one time then they NEVER see me again.

Let's see, if I 'm going into a seasonal business, where my customers can either buy my product or drive south or north 40+ miles to find an alternative, the big crowd will be in town for about a month and a half, the smaller crowds for the rest of the winter and spring, my pricing is pretty limited, but I can either use the lowest end components or the best components, and it really won't matter, because when the seasonal crowd is here, at least some are going to have to buy my product or go hungry, which do I do, turn out a great meal and make a little profit on the risk that they'll all come back next year, or turn out a plate of trash and make the highest margin possible, just to tide me over in case noone comes up next year.  You do the math.

There are a number of non-fishheads who live year round in Pulaski and Orwell and Altmar, etc, but apparantly not enough of them eat out often enough to support a good restuarant, although the Oak Barrel, the Cheese Factory and the Redfield Hotel all have good grub up in Redfield.  But it's not that far to drive to Oswego or Central Square or Parish if you live there, and you get away from the crowds, who many of the resdients get a little sick of after a couple of weeks.

13 do you remember the owner of the C&M talking to the table of locals behind us one Aug saying it was almost time to get out the smaller plates and order the cheaper meats?
Hopefully if the new place is any good it will be patronized by some snowmobilers come winter and the campers in the summer. At least enough so they don't jack over the fish heads that bring the real money for a short while in the fall.

pa, that is what I experienced at Eddies afraid to go there again cause not even so much how expensive the dinner was but that it was fried greasy fish platter. Honestly thought I was getting a fresh sole dinner but it was all that frozen deep fried crap and it was ike 30 bucks a meal! lol i'd much chance the bugerking up there or the ponderosa this time. Maybe try your recommendations too with the exception of eddies. thanks and good luck this season!
