In Between The Downpours

I had a decent day on the water today, even though I had to dodge a few serious downpours!

I was alone for most of the morning and then my GF joined me for an hour or so.......I think she's hooked already, so if I can't find a partner again (like today) I'm sure she'll be willing to join me!

I caught a total of 8 LMB, but only one worth posting a pic and it was takin by me before my GF showed up, so the pic isn't the greatest.......... 4lb 7 oz.

Santa, cool you had some company and it looks like you got into some good fish. Top water style ? What a rush seeing that surface explosion...

For sure I would have loved to been there.
Looks like next Friday is all good for me and I see a few others. My boat is good to go if needed.

don't mean to hijack here but: July & Aug are my slowest time of the year for guiding. I try and get home projects done , get my tree stands and hunting land in order and start tying the hundreds of flies for the upcoming Salmon season in Sept. ... May, June Sept, Oct I'm full bore on fishing trips.

Yes, top water weedless frog - one of my favorite forms of fishing for slobs!

Friday is up in the air for me right now, but I definitely will try to make it. I'm in the process of remodeling a bathroom for dad, so depending on the progress we make this week, will determine if I can get away for the day.  I'll keep you guys posted.

    Brian,

As always, I would have enjoyed fishing with you...... Yes, it looked like she just ate something pretty big, but there was no tail hanging out of the gullet like yours from last week.! I guess she wasn't full yet, since she swallowed my frog.  She didn't really nail it like they usually do........she actually swirled around it, then I stopped the bait, twitched it a few times and then she took it........kinda cool actually!

santa, once again bravo on the catch and sorry for the hijack.
here is why I could not join you.

The guns & guitars (well a few) came back in . I moved and remodeled our bedroom. I use rough cut native lumber and plane all my own trim and made the bed frame (it's a king size).
The wife was very pleased with my work. I still have 4 more guitars , 6 more amps a drum set and keyboards along with mountains of fishing gear. But not in that space.

HEY awesome Tuna! looks like you can jam! I play the harmonica and wouldn't go hungry at it either. Cause every time I play people throw food at me. some of it looks pretty tasty as it whizzes by.
On a serious note excuse the pun, will you be playin at the fishin party?

Tuna - great job on the remodel and bed.  Here's a pic of my basement which kept me busy over the winter and it's also my excuse for being MIA from the forum for so long!

Jigs - great idea on having a little jam session up at Jimmy's during our weekend in August - even a little unpluged action would be cool and I'm sure Jimmy would welcome it!

Nice bunch of guitars Tuna, I once had a "guitar room" but the wife slowly took it over
A jam session sounds like a good idea at "Jimmy Jam 2"
