Got a SLOB today...and a 25 lber as well!

Wish my buddy didn't stiff so i had someone to take a good picture.....i took one on the seat of my rowboat which i'll post later but it doesn't do it justice by any means.

Out at the buttcrack of dawn as usual................shortly after the sun came up and i managed to catch a herring I got a serious run and landed a 40" +- fish that had to go close to if not over 30 lbs.......thought about keeping it as it might have been close to placing in the River basin contest but i figured if it did place it owuld hvae been bumped the way this season is progressing already.
 
Headed out right now with a ruler and a sharpie to mark some lengths on the rowboat in case i get another one....

About 10 minutes later i got another beauty that was about 25 lbs.

For those of you who know me i don't bs about size...i am the first one to say that most of the fish that people claim are 20 lbs are more like 15.....so these are legit.

This is the biggest striper i've caught in several years..........hopefully it is a sign of a great season with not only numbers but size!!

    WTG...can't wait to see the pic. Don't know where you live but if you ever need a fishing mate give me a shout. Transportation is an issue with me though (no car, just limited access to one). I do however have a real nice video camera that also takes nice 8 mega pixel pictures.

    The picture doesn't do it justice......but compare it to the 5 gallon bucket and life jacket.......would have loved a good pic but i couldn't kill her.

    Yea buddy, you guys are the Striper Kings ... GREAT JOB !!!!!
    I only wish I could get psyched again over that great fishery... To me its 3 weeks of bad timing... So quick and so short...
