Been listening to & watching 3 REALLY nice longbeards for the last 2 weeks, every morning.  Saved them for today to avoid headaches on Saturday.  Watched them run through the same program yesterday morning, and then road checked them on the way out.  Local supposed "great" turkey hunter, goes in  to roost them last night.  Walks right under roost trees and all through the general area.  This is a small patch of woods to boot.  So after scouting for 3 weeks, roosting & patterning, I sit this am and not a peep out of that woods.  They have been there everyday for a month.

I am not bellyaching, this is part of turkey hunting, but guys please, please, please.  Do some background work, before attempting to roost birds you have spotted from the road.  I only post this because I hope I never do it to someone.  Check the areials, observe long range one night, before barging into thier kitchen.   We had a very dissapointed young man today, and he learned a valuable lesson.

Ok enough whining, good luck guys!   The good news is I get to hunt again tomorrow.....

Better too far back, than too far forward.
