New to the Forum

Just wanted to stop in and say hello.  I am currently living in Northern Virginia but grew up in the Adirondacks.  I try and fish up in NY every chance I can get.  I joined the forum mainly to keep an eye on my father in law (EagleCrg) on this site.

    Fish Pimp:

You are taking on a task that many of us have tried, but there is no control on Eagle Crg.  He has snagged fish on the Salmon River, claimed catching hugh catfish in Virginia, wounded several evergreen trees while hunting in the Adirondacks, uses weird smelling scents like anise on his lures/flies and seems to be slowing down in his old age.
You have been fortunate to marry his lovely daughter and she enjoys fishing.  Welcome to the forum and I will try to assist you in keeping the OLDE ONE going.

FISHPIMP:  You'll have to disregard most of what eagleed says, he's not getting senile, he's already there.  You learned most of what you know about fishing in New York anyway.  I understand that Virginia has so many catfish anyone can catch them, but not everyone can catch bait.  Rumor has it that the reason you do so well on the catfish is that you're a good bait fisherman (catching bait, that is).

Here is some good reading I don't mind sharing.. http://www.savethefish.org/PDF_files/SWS_301_for_web.pdf  After reading it , it kind of gives a sense of awareness in what we can appreciate if we get involved in Wildlife management.. one can only hope our $ efforts are for conservation for preservation rather preservation for conservation. Hoping this is where our sportsmen dollars will be used for going forward

Thanks for the reading but this doesn't belong in this thread. Start your own thread don't highjack one....

Grew up in Northville and went to college in Plattsburgh.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!!!  Eaglecrg, yeah Virginia has alot of catfish in which most people can easily catch.  But it was still a chore putting you on one and I don't think it was the "guides" inexperience.  I think it had something to do with the fisherman.

FP:  I hear there are some good Smallies in Lake Holiday down there in Virginia.  Of course, you have to know how to catch them.

LOL you got me there.  I may try to get out there this weekend and see how the spawn is going.  It is supposed to be 70 degrees this weekend.
