large flocks like ones that have 82 birds eventually break up and spread out once the pecking order gets hammered out in relation to breeding. i counted 110 birds on a farm in wv earlier this year, that became 63 for a bit, and now 43 or 44 birds there now. coyotes keep flocks together too, more eyes means more piece of mind. something about that: last couple of seasons in one area, gobblers where tree hopping to calls and decoys, one day last season with b-mobile a gobbler ran some three hundred yards and stopped dead about 75 yds out, turned right and flew away, next a coyote trotted onto the scene!#%! my buddies got some coyote hounds, killed 14 coyotes from that starting point this past winter, hope this puts the birds at ease...
