St. Croix Mojo Rods vs. AllStar Rods
I'm looking at both the new St. Croix Mojo casting rods and the Team AllStar Casting Rods. They are the best that I can find in my price range (around $100). Any opinions on which ones are better or the pros and cons of either. I've read alot of reviews, and its hard to beat the St. Croix warranty. I don't know much about AllStar rods, but I've heard pretty good things.

Allstar use to be the "all time" best rod...I even had a sponsership with them for the short career fishing tourneys, but they are not the same rod as they were. I can't recal who bought them, but Ive heard bad things about the new allstars. St.Croix Mojo is the way to Gogo..Ya that was an attemped at poetry!

Sometime last year, AllStar closed their facility in Texas and moved production overseas. The Mojo rods are made here.

I caught the wording of that, but didn't think Mexico....I thought Canada. The other lines starting with the Premier say made in USA.

Yeah it caught me at first too when i was in the shop in the fall looking at the new catalog and talking to the shop owner. I said well thats a nice price for american made rods, and thats when he told me that they worded it NORTH AMERICA and not made in the USA and were being made in Mexico

I, too, was sponsered by All Star and at the time they were the best. Since I haven't tournament fished for about 15 years, I can't attest to the quality today.
Duncsdad Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion

I fished the redfish tourney before they were big as they are now, and Allstar was a VERY generous sponsor for our team. Now days...they're all cheap unless you place in the top 10 of anything. Know what? I never caught the "made in North America" thing until you guys mentioned it! Good marketing on their part, though. But now days these rods manufactorer are having trouble staying competitive so they're force to go over sees..or to Mexico in this situation. I've broke St.Croix rods (my fault) and the dealer sent it back and I hade a new rod in 4 days! Great service, great rod, good price.

BTW...if anyone wants the old Allstars I have 13 that I would sell. They are all the same rod, though... 7' M/H fast action "Shrimptail Specials" Which is similar to a good Crank rod!
