Jerry at Timberland is a great guy, very informative, nice Lake to fish, ice is thick. Fished with a couple guys yesterday, slow bite but nice to be out. Many small perch and a few "almost" slab crappies. They were very finicky. I will return this coming weekend..beautiful place.

What are the tournament rules? Is it the same format as the earlier tourney.  Thanks. w_w.

If it has fins and gills, I'm there.

Is it Sat or Sun? I'm going up to fish anyway, doesn't really matter. I got the old lady talked in to joining me (out comes the shanty, lol) She catches all the fish so I'm taking her to teach me a few pointers.

Hey Brian, you headed over that way this weekend?

Yep, plan to be there bright and early.  I'm not exactly sure of the location yet.  The few times I have fished there in the past, I didn't fair too well.

Anybody know how much ice is there?w_w.

My buddy and I went to Canandota today at 1:00 there was some water on the ice but the ice was still good 12" + in most areas. shorelines and inlets were open in places but the main lake is good. Best place to get on ice is at the boat launch. The temp. is dropping right now and is supposed to get below 20 deg. tonight should freeze the water on top but creepers will probably be a must ice is slippery you know!

Slow day on the water for most.  There were about 100 anglers in the event.  some pike, perch and crappies were weighed in.  There were a few under legal muskies and walleyes (got to be legal to count).  Fish had lock jaw.  The food provided was great and plentiful.  Thanks to Jerry Van Tassel and all those who participated.

we unfortunately didn't get one flag during the tourney and only a few small perch jigging but the food and weather couldn't have been any better.
