One Left In The Tank

After Snyders hang out I think I have one serious hardwater trip left in me before full fly gear will come out.
I am pretty much done with LG and maybe even lake trout all together. The Peace and quiet that was had last sat is what I seek most. Having thoughts of returning there with the complete plate of species or just up the road in the Hunt for big fish pond are looming heavy in my thoughts.
So to this I say , My fellow Ice walkers, next week is the final blow out. Maybe friday or maybe sunday but it will be a last day on the ice......

I'm with you RJ on the peace and quiet thing. I have a smaller local place that fishing is so-so but find myself going back there a lot because there is very rarely other people there. And not 1 house on the place !!

The Laker trips are fun, but can be long hectic days.

Let's make it a point to bs Saturday.

Lake George has totally shut off anyway. My quest for my first laker may have to wait until next season. Early ice had everyone out early this year and frankly i am burned out. Snyder's lake on saturday and maybe the Schroon tourney in March and that is it for me i think.

I went out this morning to my regular lake. Drilled 5 holes set one trap then packed up and left. I could hear the ice settling with about every step I took. By myself out there it was just a little to nerve racking for me. The streams on it are opening up quickly and I just don't trust it, so better safe then sorry. Probably see you guys at Snyder's this weekend and pack up the gear and start spooling the trout reels.

I'm with you tuna, I might get in a couple more icefishing trips at best. Feels like springtime this am ..Birds are singing ,,man SPRING IS THE BEST IMHO! Wish I could of made it this weekend but, Got to help brother this weekend, I'll be squeezing in alittle am and possibly pm tipups with him friends somewhere in the catskills. walked the dog a few on Greenwood lk. being ice in harriman is closed. Greenwood had stocking earlier this decade of both walleye musky but it still to me is too polluted, I guess if I were into just caught and release, i'd be hitting that place for possible trophies.
