Yesterday it warmed to 60. I went to the big boy water all afternoon. To catch a fish here is not very easy, but it's the stream I call home.
A few of you may know I hold men like Marinaro, Fox & others up higher than all others. Although I never knew most of them personally I still feel their presence when I fish where they changed american flyfishing.
So Yesterday I went to a place mentioned in books. It's called the 19th hole. It's where this group of fellas would gather & discuss fishing, or whatever came up I'm sure. Many people may not know it exists for real- it's off the beaten path, but it's there. I thought I'd share a few Pics. of the 19th hole, what's left of the benches & how Fox's meadow looks now.
And to answer the question now- I didn't catch a fish. I saw no risers all afternoon. Not even any bugs were noticed on the air, water or bushes.
Now- on with it.....
This plaque is there.
The old Benches
The view.
Now looking down stream.
This is the lower end of Fox's meadow- just above the 19th hole...
Up stream view of Fox's meadow. Most people think they are fishing it when they park @ the TU lot & walk in, but that's Hoggins meadow. Fox's is below the spring that comes in (at the tree in the middle of the pic..
Just a day to reflect, remember why I fish & get a little fresh air.
Hope you guys like the pics.
I have more from the last few weeks I'll dig up. The day I got skunked & my wife did good with her new rod comes to mind...
