James River Va

James river catfish.  Got a buddy who bank fished the james river in Va only twice in the past two years.  And each time fishing has been unreal.  Both times caught fish near 40's and multiple 20's.  Has had bigger get off.  Just a thought if anyone gets to the richmond va area.

    Another smaller one.
    All in one night numerous large fish.  Never posted a pic so just seeing if this works

    That is one nice cat fish.  I used to fish the James River years ago down near Jamestown when I lived there but, never caught any cats that big.  What part of the James river are you fishin?

    Any day with a rod in the water is better than a day at work

    My big question is???? are they any good to eat that size if so im there???   Any one know this knowledge. thanxs

    Hey Peacy.....as long as the boat has a valid registration you won't have a problem fishing from it in any state.........just has to have a valid registration.....and of course all the safe equipment............

    as far as eating i wouldnt recommend eating any catfish from these waters. I understand that the level of pCB's and such limit ones consumption

    Those are nice pics -i beleive those to be flatheads. There are also giant blue cats showing up in that tidal james river.
    Its a very large river system -i would love to know some access points
